Parking for Visitors with Disabilities: The parking garage mentioned above is a fair distance from the NJSCA offices and may be too far for someone using a wheelchair or crutches to travel. There is also a somewhat steep incline involved. If you need a space close to our building, call our office a day or more in advance and a space can be reserved directly behind the building. If you tell us your expected time of arrival, someone can meet you at the back entrance to open the card-accessed door. Proceed straight back to the elevators and come up to the 4th floor. If you would like to park in the garage, it does have spaces set aside for people with disabilities. Follow the instructions from the garage above. However when you get to the stairs alongside the Planetarium (#12 above), pass the stairs and go around the Planetarium and through the parking lot behind the State Museum. Continue along the west side of the Museum (somewhat steep grade) to the sidewalk along State Street. Turn left and go past the building entrance to the ramp leading up to the entrance level. If you need any special accommodations while visiting the Council's office, please let us know two weeks in advance, if possible, so that special arrangements can be provided.
Visitors with Disabilities: As you face the front of the Deptartment of State Building, there is a ramp to your right that leads up to the entrance level. The building is fully accessible with elevators to each floor, accessible restrooms, water fountains, kitchen facilities, and circulation; visual/audio alarms; and two TTYs.
Traveling By Train: NJ Transit, Amtrak and SEPTA trains make stops at Trenton station (do not go to West Trenton station). Contact the individual rail lines for schedules. The Trenton Train Station is about nine long blocks from the Council's office. While it is possible to walk from the station, it is recommended you take a taxicab or NJ Transit buses #601, 606, 608 and 609, which stops at the station and in front of our office - 225 West State Street.
Traveling By Bus: NJ Transit buses #601, 606, 608 and 609 stop in front of the Council's office. However, you are advised to contact NJ Transit directly at 1-800-772-222 to confirm bus routes, connections, and to get schedule information.
