Effective advocacy is essential to ensuring support for the arts and all causes we believe are important to our quality of life. Effective arts advocacy is more than securing public dollars. It is regular and ongoing communication with all the many persons, organizations and industries that influence, authorize and support the arts and doing so in compelling ways that reveal the importance of investing in them and inspire action on their behalf. Only when the arts are adequately resourced, can they provide all of us with the full range of their benefits that we know are important to the quality of our lives.
In this section we will provide information on an array of arts advocacy issues, especially those that impact artists, that deserve attention and point to ways that you can help. The arts in New Jersey are already fortunate to have a highly effective statewide arts advocacy organization, ArtPride NJ Foundation. The Council will continue to work with ArtPride NJ Foundation and increasingly work in association with cultural and history advocates in the state a well as national organizations to further our advocacy efforts.
